Stated Objectives of The Bucks-Mont Chapter of the Owner Handler's Association of America, Inc.
The Bucks-Mont Owner Handler Association is a not-for-profit chapter of the Owner Handler Association of America, Inc. Our primary mission is education, aimed at encouraging and promoting a more rewarding involvement of owners of purebred dogs in the training, handling, and exhibition of their own dogs. In the pursuit of this goal, a participant must be able to recognize and evaluate those qualities and actions which contribute to the achievement of excellence in the world of purebred dogs. To this end we offer an ongoing series of show handling classes taught by a professional handler, and a variety of programs and seminars by well-known authorities in the canine world. Many of our members have bred and/or shown their dogs to a variety of AKC sanctioned titles, and as a group they represent a great trove of useful information freely given to those of similar interest but perhaps less experience. Membership in the Bucks-Mont OHA is open to all people who are active in the sport of purebred dogs who subscribe to the purposes of our association and are in good standing with the American Kennel Club. Junior membership is available for people under the age of eighteen years. We meet on a regularly scheduled basis, though meetings are not held during the summer months. Our schedule also includes two social events each year. If an organization of this type is of interest to you, please feel free to request a membership application and attend one of our regular meetings and programs. For further information please feel free to contact our Membership Chairperson, Linda Glick, at dinmont5@verizon.net, or by phone at 610-834-0119.
