February 5, 2008.  Roxy Reading is a non-profit, all-volunteer therapy dog program.  Their mission is to positively influence elementary school children’s development and to enhance the experience of learning to read through the use of therapy dogs. Their visits benefit students who are learning to read, struggling The Bucks-Mont OHA was pleased to welcome Diane Smith, Founder and Director of the Roxy Reading Program, to speak at their monthly general meeting on with reading, and those with a variety of emotional and physical challenges.

A division of The Bright & Beautiful Therapy Dogs, Inc., Roxy Reading is made up of dozens of dedicated volunteers and their Certified Emotional Therapy Dogs.   The Pet Therapy Teams, consisting of the owner/handler and their dog, touch the lives of almost 400 students in five schools across the Central Bucks School District.  The teams regularly visit first through sixth grade classes where children relax, read to, and interact with the dogs.
